Practical Notes for Lifting and Rigging Calculators
Lifting and rigging calculations are used to support planning before work starts. These tools help estimate sling tension, crane lift capacity checks, outrigger loading and ground bearing pressure. They are useful for comparing options and identifying possible risk areas before a lift is attempted.
The calculated result should never be treated as a complete lift plan on its own. Real lifting work depends on crane configuration, boom length, radius, counterweight, outrigger setup, ground conditions, load shape, rigging method, wind, communication and site access. The final lift must always follow the crane load chart, the rigging equipment ratings, the site procedure and the responsible person’s approval.
Use these calculators as early planning tools. If a result looks close to a limit, treat that as a warning sign and check the lift again with the correct crane chart, certified rigging gear and competent supervision.
